Vaccination for COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) is mandatory for all MSK staff. Staff are considered fully vaccinated upon completion of a primary vaccination series for COVID-19 (i.e., one dose of a single dose vaccine or a final dose of a multi-dose vaccine series). Exceptions from the COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) vaccine requirements are permitted for those who request and receive an approved medical, religious, or fully remote exemption.  Requests for exemption can take up to two weeks to review. Vaccination or an approved exemption is required to start work.

Job Description

If that sounds like you, you've landed in the right place. The Associate Director will lead a highly diverse group of project managers who oversee multidisciplinary teams to collaborate and deliver impactful projects. The ideal candidate has strong collaboration skills such as flexibility and places great value on leadership, communication, and creative thinking. In this role, you will focus on creating an environment that promotes inclusivity and growth with solid capability and capacity for successful delivery.

 

You will:

  • Develop and implement standardized project management methodologies, policies, procedures, tools, and templates across the DigITs
  • Be responsible for maintaining project management and governance standards, ensuring Project Manager (PM) compliance, monitoring, tracking metrics, and producing dashboards and reports.
  • Monitor essential projects and programs, align deliverables to program outcomes, and report dashboard insights to executives
  • Facilitate the collaboration of program objectives and project deliverables with SAFe Product Management
  • Provide visible leadership and subject matter expertise in project management principles and disciplines
  • Oversee all active projects, analyze status reports, identify risks, and ensure mitigation plans are in place
  • Coaches and supports the Project Management team and conducts hiring, mentoring, and training to improve their understanding and skills

You have:

  • 7+ years of IT Project management experience plus 5 + years in a leadership role in a PMO is required
  • Proven project management experience in the use of Waterfall methodologies
  • Knowledge of Agile frameworks and practices
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team and mentor project managers
  • Ability to build strong and trusting relationships with direct reports, business leaders, and senior management
