Manager, Pharmacy Clinical Services

The Manager of Pharmacy Clinical Services is a dynamic role, responsible for day-to-day clinical and quality management of various Healthfirst Pharmacy programs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Works collaboratively to track high-cost pipeline medications and participate in high-cost drug strategy and planning
  • Maintains relationships with local Colleges of Pharmacy, coordinates the Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE), and participates as a preceptor for pharmacy students at Healthfirst
  • Maintains and expands relationships with pharmaceutical companies and participates in the clinical collaboration with manufacturers
  • Provides clinical pharmacy support to Healthfirst departments as a Clinical Pharmacy subject matter expert (SME)
  • Plans, develops, and participates in Continuing Education presentations for external healthcare professionals
  • Presents and participates during Pharmacy Leadership meetings
  • Works collaboratively to administer, oversee, and plan for various quality programs
  • Complies with HIPAA requirements and maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) confidentiality of member, provider, medical, and departmental information
  • Adheres to local, state, federal, and Healthfirst specific compliance and regulatory guidelines
  • Ensures all NY state and federal compliance, audit and regulatory requirements are met
  • Additional duties as necessary

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution degree from an accredited school of pharmacy
  • Registered Pharmacist with a license in good standing
  • PGY1 Residency training or at least 5 years of experience in Managed Care or currently Board Certified in any of the Board of Pharmacy Specialties and aims to maintain Board Certification
  • Working clinical knowledge of pharmaceuticals and disease states
  • Work experience requiring written and verbal communication that is clear, concise, grammatically correct, and professional
  • Working experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint (creating presentations and slides), and Excel (Pivot tables)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with residency program administration as a Residency Program Director or Residency Program Coordinator
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead large and small working meetings
  • Passion for learning/ teaching, promoting access to healthcare, and interest in growing skills in a dynamic environment with various opportunities

License or Certification:

  • Licensed pharmacist in good standing.
  • Currently Board Certified in any of the Board of Pharmacy Specialties and aims to maintain Board Certification

Hiring Range:

  • Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $98,400 - $142,205
  • All Other Locations (within approved locations): $84,400 - $125,545

As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.
